I have
owned shown and bred, various beeds of dogs over the years but dogs have
always been a huge part of my life. I like intelligent, active breeds that keep me busy with their endless pursuits. I have been involved with Dog Rescue for many years.
In the UK, I was the Bearded Collie Rescue Co-ordinator for East Yorkshire and I also helped my friends with Staffordshire
Bull Terrier Rescue & Springer Spaniel Rescue. Over the years I have studied in Dog Psychology and Dog
Grooming. I am currently studying Canine Massage.
Where we live In May 2004 we moved to New Zealand the Land of the Kiwi, from our home in East Yorkshire, England.
We lived in the Waikato / Waitomo District which was in the centre of the North Island between Otorohanga and Te Kuiti for
two years. On 2nd June 2006 we moved near Ngunguru in Whangarei, which was in the North of the North Island, our
property was near the beautiful Tutukaka Coast. In November 2009 we relocated to Queensland, Australia where we lived
for two years before moving back to the Bay of Plenty in New Zealand in November 2011.
How Pemontell originated (Bearded Collies) My love for beardies began many years ago, and in my search
for a beardie I came across Monty, a cross beardie at a rescue centre. It was love at first sight. Monty blossomed
into the most loving, charming friend I have ever had. It wasn't long before two new additions joined my family,
Ellen and then Pebbles.
 Pebble (6 mths), Monty (2yrs), Ellen (1yr)
How Spanish Water Dogs joined us at Pemontell My interest in Spanish Water Dogs started back in 1989 when I was living and
working in Southern Spain, this is where I first saw these unusual dogs.
Canagua's
Lucia
 Our first Spanish Water Dog
It was many years later, when I was back in the
UK that I finally got a Spanish Water Dog of my own. A litter had been born on 28th Apri 1996 and it was one of
these puppies, Canagua's Lucia that came to join my family in the summer of 1996. A short time after Shambricie
Aura joined us at Pemontell. then in March 2002, we travelled to Southern Spain to Collect Berni & Behison, our two
new additions to our canine family. Then in July we travelled to Belgium to collect our little Belgium Boy, Azar.
Two years later, Cole also came to join us from our friends kennel in Belgium. We owned and bred Spanish Water Dogs for 14 years and had many happy times throughout that period but we also
had many sad and difficult times too, and it was due to these that we made the hard decision to not continue with Spanish
Water Dogs in 2010.
How Standard Parti Poodles joined us at Pemontell
In 1993 while visiting the Crufts Dog Show I purchased a book that had just been printed called 'Canine
Lexicon'it was inside this beautiful 900 page book that I saw for the first time. a stunning Standard Parti
Poodle. However this book was American and with no internet back then it was impossible to know where to locate such a dog
so I just admired it from afar for many many years. Over the last few years I managed to see lots of these stunning
dogs on the internet and started to make enquiries as to how I could purchase one of these stunning dogs. Then in 2007
while exhibiting my Spanish Water Dogs at the Pet Expo in Auckland I met Anne Bennett who said she had recently imported a
Standard Parti Female from the USA. To cut a long story short after Anne imported a partner for her bitch and had her
first litter, I was so blessed to be able to get not one Parti but two Parti Girls to join my family in 2009.
In 2010, a little Brown Parti Boy, Clinton joined our canine family and in September 2011 we are looking
forward to our Black Tuxedo Boy, Elvis's arrival from the USA.
